opamp to transformer input mod.
« on: July 01, 2024, 02:06:48 am »
I'm thinking about replacing the 4 input caps with a transformer just for fun / experimentation on this circuit (GSSL.)

Should I ground the Secondary low or run both sides of the transformer into the NE5534? Do I need the 22k's? BTW, the "DBX202C" is actually a THAT2180

You could try both to see which gives the best performance, quite possibly no difference, but I would lean towards grounding one side of the transformer output. The '22k' depend on the output impedance of the transformer, quite possibly you could lower the value as you are no longer providing an RC high pass filter and reduce the input noise.
