I need help selecting ADC chips. I would like to build a couple ADCs for 16bit 48Khz coding with AES/EBU output. Balance or differential input would be key. I would like word clock input and output. A stereo channel pair would be ideal. There must be a single chip solution, no? Way back I know Crystal Semi made a single chip codec, but I don't think it had word clock and was made for consumer CD. I've looked around at eval boards but those I found where higher priced than I wanted. I use Crystal Semi eval boards for DACs today but I was given them by Crystal Semi years ago. I know people are using different TI chips. I'm looking at their product selector and I was hoping someone who knows those chips could narrow the selection for me or maybe point me at other choices. I can code a micro if needed for setup but would love it to run standalone with pushbutton selections. As some of the data is headed to either ADAT or TDIF, I know there are custom ADAT chips available for up to 8 channels I was thinking of incorporating too.
Thanks
