PCBs are made to order, they are not ready in a warehouse so that they can be left over, therefore the minimum order is 5 pcs.

I screwed up and only ordered the back panel (very new to this, who the Hell was Gerber?) (actually I am curious). I will talk with PCB and order the complete package (sans back panel) on Monday.

I KNEW it was too easy!

Gerber files are the files used by the PCB house to build the boards. They contain all the information needed for the machines to build the boards (vias, pads, sizing, etc...)

Hi everyone, I had long COVID and huge health problems... sorry! As a matter of fact, it's been some time to this forum.
600 euro for 10 sets of parts?? I was under the impression it was the price for one. If that is NOT he case, 60E + 55 for the boards is a bargain.
I'm still interested...

The precursor of the modern embedded system instruments:

The instrument system/software is entirely housed inside of the FPGA of the DE10-Nano, no additional system/PC/computer is necessary to operate the instruments but multiple PC's can connect to the FPGA board instrument server as clients to start the instrument software and get data. Additional ADC/DAC and signal conditioning electronics connected to the DE10-Nano were required.

For others that come along: expect to spend around $600 USD (2024) on the total project.

I have shopped, and shopped, and shopped for the required parts.
Ultimately I ended up with $95 in parts at Newark and most of the rest at Digikey. This maddening effort saved me around $85 USD in the end.

Absolutely do not buy the 6 banana jacks at Digikey @ $6/ea. Newark has them at $2/pc.
Even with the separate shipping you come out way ahead!

Newark also has some of the expensive switches/etc for a fair amount less:

SP3T switch M2024SS1W03:
Newark has 5 in stock with more expected Dec 2024. Digikey has zero and lists it as obsolete

M2024SS1W03-BA is an equivalent, with just a plastic/rubber bat hat as the only difference.
It is also discontinued; As of July 20, 2024 Digikey has 13 left in stock. Newark lists it as NLA.

This SP3T has been surprisingly difficult to match.

Rotary switch MRA112 is obsolete, limited stock..Digikey has 120 as of July 20, 2024.
MRAN112 seems to be a new replacement. I cannot confirm.

Newark has the rotary switch 51P22-01-1-16N for about $8 or so less than everybody else

Newark had the better prices on 1 or 2 of the transformers.

There were a few others that stood out, but you get the idea.

As for the special 5 row test sockets --- good luck. The Aliexpress link in the BOM seems to be the only option

EDIT to add:

Front board BOM has some gotchas with the Digikey part numbers
Digi-reel part numbers instead of cut tape, which adds $7 to the cost of each
