3D printed TO-92 Adapter for easy heatsink mounting
« on: July 05, 2024, 10:41:56 pm »
This is the result of an issue I encountered, as I wanted to sense the temp of some heatsink for a project using the good old LM35 temp sensor, since its common and just about everywhere, very cheap and easy to use. NTC are harder to mount on heatsink as you need the ones that are epoxied to the ring, which are more expensive overall.
Additionally, while LM35 are available in TO-220 package, they are often twice as costly and less readily available unless purchased from major distributors.

So I quickly designed some kind of an TO-220 with a small TO-92 shaped slot in the middle:
2302661-0

After printing it came out like this:
2302665-1

It attaches the TO-92 firmly to the heatsink, the use of thermal paste is recommended.

Might be useful for some of you  :)
