good book on magnetic devices?
« on: September 07, 2015, 12:44:29 am »
Are there any good books anyone can recommend about magnetic circuits/transformers/inductors that have a focus on implementation?

Something written similar to "introduction to microwaves" by gershon j wheeler. I like how he gives you an equation but there is often a note like "in practice this is complete bullshit"

Probably a older book would be better, one that focuses more on concepts then relentlessly bombarding you with equations. I don't want a reference manual like alot of text books seem to be.

I noticed the quality of a book is often noted by how many times it is the primary reference in a research paper. I feel like the more papers you find with a book referenced as [1] the better it is, because you know the book actually taught the guy how to do something rather then exist as a implement to torture students with.

I have the german issue of this, http://www.we-online.com/web/en/electronic_components/produkte_pb/fachbuecher/Trilogie.php

Of course it has some advertising character but well written imho.

I'm not a feature, I'm a bug! ARC DG3HDA
