How it's made: $2 PCBs

The actual tour starts at 3:55, but don't forget to turn on subtitles unless you know Chinese.

Don't judge her just by appearance. She's quite skilled and inventive, and the channel well worth watching for more reasons than her augmented appearance...

Why is it that some guys just can't accept the idea that girls can do well at technical stuff? And yet it's common for hobbyists to have problems with "their wife/girlfriend not accepting their hobby". To solve that, we need girls in tech to show the world that it's cool for girls to do technical stuff.

Her chest to waist ratio is insane. I recall she even set a record, although I'm not sure exactly what she's referring to - in all of China or just Shenzhen?

I'm pretty sure your fairly nauseating obsession with anything breasted on Youtube has to do with the marked technical abilities of the human attached. Too bad no men have any such skills, so you can't obsess and post about those. You'll be convicted to watching these women for the rest of your life.

Not very informative video, too many wows, without much explanations. This one is much better, with more detailed explanations of the individual steps:

My college friends, guys and girls, seem to show more interest in girls doing tech stuff. It's apparently more "cool" and "unique".

Because it's so incredibly rare? Until the last 10 years or so I could just about count on my fingers the number of women I've met who were genuinely interested in engineering and of those the number who were unusually attractive is minuscule. What I have seen a lot of is "booth babes" at trade shows and such who are hired for their appearance. In the EE program at the (small) college I went to there was exactly *one* girl, no idea if she finished as I dropped out for financial reasons.

It is nice to see things changing though, when I was younger showing any kind of interest in engineering or computers was about the most effective way known of repelling girls.

Not so, that's just a plain 2D video. She does have the equipment to film 5K surround, but I guess it wasn't used this time because it would record everything in the room, including confidential information such as customer designs that are not to be revealed to the public.

I really like surround video, especially in 5K, but understand how filming it can be problematic in private environments.

That's why I cannot understand the need to appear like that. Usually that style is used by mediocre people but since it's not her case, it's pure exhibitionism. And that's not what I expect from smart people.

Standing out from the crowd and attracting interest in technology seems like a good reason. And it's not like Naomi is the only one doing that - also take a look at what Sarah Petkus is doing.

Just being a reasonably attractive girl who is also intelligent and technically inclined would make one stand out. Showing off the goods like that is unnecessary and while I like to gawk as much as the next guy, I think it distracts from the topic being discussed and likely attracts a lot of people who are just gawking. When I see someone who is dressed like a booth babe, my subconscious assumption is that that's essentially what they are, I end up surprised when they turn out to be knowledgeable. I mean whatever, she's free to dress any way she likes, it's not my intent to judge, but it's hardly surprising when the focus ends up being her appearance rather than the technical aspects of the video.

Don't forget that not everyone are as interested in technology as we are. She's pulling in those "non technicals" and a good percentage of them are gaining interest. Guess why Creality and JLCPCB have "hired" her. ("Hired" because she's a part time contractor, not a full time employee.)

I found her rationale for doing the tour in Chinese to be interesting, and I was looking forward to a bit more insider chit chat. But the video didn't really deliver. Most of her comments and questions got one-line answers. Would have appreciated some talk about what steps are problematic, what machines act up, what home-brew solutions they've cooked up to increase efficiency/yield. Also, I'm curious what these folks think of working in a PCB factory.

Well, she's not an engineer, so I didn't expect her to have the background knowledge to do that kind of insider talk. But a found the tour still interesting and entertaining, on a different level than Scottys' though.

Remember her motto, "If I can do it, anyone can do it". The appearance is part of the story. Controversal as it is, it's definitely a door opener. 'Reasonably attractive girl' doing tech stuff is not enough to stand out on YouTube.

If you feel distracted by her appearance, well, maybe the fault is with you, not with her. Some introspection may be in order...

Also, the videos are probably not ment for entertainment of engineers like Dave's videos, if it went really deep into details like we love, it would not fit with her target audience

'Reasonably attractive girl' doing tech stuff is not enough to stand out on YouTube.
There are so many pretty girls out there that it's hard to stand out with looks alone.
Also, the videos are probably not ment for entertainment of engineers like Dave's videos, if it went really deep into details like we love, it would not fit with her target audience
Yes, too many details turn beginners away. Would be interesting to see if Sarah Petkus, who is going in a similar direction but more technical, runs into that problem.
