SMF 3.0 coming soon

Just learnt about this elsewhere, and I wonder if Dave was aware of this also...

So far, I only know it's currently under development and will be a major overhaul to the existing version, which means this forum will look completely different to how it is currently.

They use 2.1.5, so it's newer than the version this forum uses.

No this site never even went to 2.1.5... still on a 2.0 release, and I seem to recall Dave or one of the admins saying they were intentionally not upgrading.

Pleased to see 3.00 on that URL not having fixed headers, widgets, dimming overlays & behind dialogues and resource wasting annoying animations such as animated skeleton placeholders.

I was referring to the official SMF forum using that version (and yes I know this one is on the 2.0 one).

When this gets released to the wider public and should Dave ever wish to refuse it, then I'm cool with it.
