This is my take on it. If this is pleasing, I can develop it further (more versions, text etc.).
Here a list of my thoughts:

1. Dave want's his face in it.
2. If one knows the evvblog also this logo will be recognized.
3. White on black, blue, red... looks great on clothing!
4. White on black, blue, red, green looks even greater on pcbs.
5. Just the logo as such works fine in big and small -> use from pcb to business jet.
6. The design is IP67 waterproof -> holds on to canyoneering gear.

Yep, I agree that this one is pretty flexible.
Only downside is that it's not electronics related of course, but that's hard to do with any logo without having an over-used tacky feel to it I think.
Yes, please develop further.

Thanks.
Dave.

Yes, since a logo must be simple, it is hard to integrate the electronics theme. You built yourself a brand with the photo you are using now. It would be stupid to not utilize that, and make steps backwards.

I will work on it,
Martin

For me, to identify with something by their actual pose is the ultimate logo! so it really doesn't matter at all that there is no obvious electronics link in the imagery, the gesture IS the link, which is very powerful, more powerful than any logo.

A superb example is.. there are many others

I agree, the pose makes it.  The B/W logo of Dave's face and hand martin did has my vote.  It carries on the look of the photo.  From a marketing view recognition is everything and I don't think it makes a difference that there's no electronic symbol.

This is something I thought of a few days ago and forgot about. "The sum of the sum of all videos/voltages/whatever". Hopefully YouTube wouldn't get too uppity about the rounded rectangle  :o

Better for use as a small icon rather than a master "look and feel" for the brand. The green is a reference to PCB solder resist of course.

Thanks for all the submission, but the winner is...
Martin!

A few more minor tweaks need to be made, but that's it, and I hope to start using it soon  :-+

Congratulation on the new logo and also looks like these should be easy to be converted into vector graphic while maintain high accuracy.  :-+
