It depends on what you consider "hot", and your level of expertise.  The Arduino forums see an incredible amount of traffic, covering several different processor architectures and a lot of peripheral and real-device interfacing.  But there are an awful lot of clueless beginners :-(  There are other forums where the level of expertise is higher, but you'll be flamed to toast  (or ignored) if you're a clueless beginner and ask a bad question...

anyway that is another thing.  do you know any other than Auduino?

Some of the linkedin forums (groups) seem to be hitting enough of a critical mass to get some interesting discussions going.  The ARM group is one of them (https://www.linkedin.com/groups?home=&gid=85447 )
The "requirements" for a good forum are interesting; it looks like a certain percentage of thick-skinned beginners with silly questions is necessary, for instance.  I could swear that the various vendor-run forums (ti, microchip) suffer from not enough people being willing to admit that they don't know something.

Here (eevblog) can be good, too.

The mikrocontroller.net site seems like a good site. Too bad it's in German :( I'm actually looking for something like that in English.
