I upgraded my 32 bit Win10 to 64 bit Windows 11. I wanted to start using my MSP-EXP432p401r launchpads (black version) with CCS 12.4 on Win11. There had been no problems on Win32 up to CCS 9.3. Now I bought it... CCS 12.4 will permit selection of that processor in "New CCS Project" pop-up. When I hit "Verify" to test the connection, CCS downloaded new firmware. As a result, the power led to the JTAG programmer on launchpad goes out and the XDS110 probes no longer are loaded in Device Manager. CCS can no longer detect the launchpad (of course). With the JTAG programmer power gone on the launchpad, this results in a permanent brick. If I was paranoid, I would believe that TI doesn't want anyone playing around with obsolete launchpads, and is using the latest CCS to kill them off. If you have a 32 bit Windows PC, don't get rid of it if you want to work with old launchpads. The 9 series of CCS, I believe, is the last 32bit version.
