Original ST-Link V2 firmware
« on: February 01, 2022, 10:55:12 am »
Hi!

I just found an original stlink V2 in the dumpster, the stm32f103 is fried, most likely the thing got zapped by powerelectronics attached to the prog header.
Is there a compatible firmware out there?
Im especially interested in the ability to program stm8 wich i dont know the knock offs to be able to do.
ST offers fw updates but can i also just download a .bin?

Hopefully someone knows a path to revive that thing.

Edit: I made this last year as an emergency fix.

ST-Link 4.3.0 worked well, newer versions didn't, since ST removed older versions, I uploaded it here

Find the ST Link Bootloader here https://github.com/Krakenw/Stlink-Bootloaders
Mind to use the 2.0 for STM32F103C8T6  and the 2.1 for STM32F103CBT6
Then find an older updater, as newer ones block a blank device. V30-ish should be ok I think.
Some old versions could be found here http://nic.vajn.icu/PDF/STMicro/STLink/
When that is flashed, you should be able to update to the latest version without problems.
