Problem decode UART on DSlogic

Hi all,

Anyone has a DSlogic able to advise? I just bought a DSlogic to test out. To test this newly bought LA and the DSview whether it work as expected, I used a serial terminal software in my setup to send a ascii text "testing" to USB-RS485 device, then to the LA probe, and LA capture and send the reading to the DSview. The DSview was able to display 7 characters captured but it showed all zero on the data. Is there anything I did wrong?

RS485 is differential. I think that's your first problem.

I don't know much about DSlogic but i would assume the inputs are ground ref not differential.

Thanks PSI. I got it, it was the differential wiring mistake. 

I still require some figuring how this software work. Not sure why the signal invert box has to be checked in DSview in order to see the corrected data.

Some serial standards are inverted with respect to others.
So no matter what default they decide to use in the software someone will need invert enabled to get correct data.
