So old vs "aged" components?

Hi!

I found few NOS precision bifillar wirewound resistors from 1976 (0.01% 0.03% 0.5% termal coeff is 1.6*10^-4)
Is it shame or bargain?  :-//

Since it "aged" how I can solder it? (What about stability after new soldering?)

A TC of 160 ppm/K would suggest that these are power resistors and not precision resistors. It is odd to make 0.01% tolerance ones with such a high TC.

With precision wire would resistors it is a good idea to keep the contact area where the resistor wire contacts the contact wire cold anyway. This also applies to new ones. The wire itself will not get hot anyway. So this usually means avoid short leads and use something like pliers to cool. Depending on the temperature excursion during soldering there might be a new relaxation cycle started. However for some type already moving to different humidity level might be enough.
