UBLOX MAX-M8W-0-10 - making changes persistent
« on: November 10, 2019, 11:51:36 am »
I have a MAX-M8W-0-10 module running on a small adapter PCB I designed and built.  When I connect to it using U-center, it's initially at 9,600 Baud.  I can use U-center to send a message changing the Baud rate to 115,200 and then I have to change the Baud rate setting in U-center before the MAX-M8W-0-10 is 'seen' again by U-center.

What I want to do is save the Baud rate (and maybe other) settings in non-volatile flash so that the module starts up with the changed Baud rate etc. So far I've failed to do this.

In U-center, if I have the module running at 115,200 and I then go to serial settings and change to 115,200 (yes, the same Baud rate) and hit send then it is still connected and gives me a prompt to save the settings which I accept but they don't persist through a full power cycle.

Any suggestions or ideas why it isn't saving?

It's been a long time since i used U-center
but i also remember having this issue.

From memory there is a special place in the software where you set it to store the data to permanent NVM
