Furuno GT88 Timing GNSS receiver
« on: May 11, 2019, 09:23:59 pm »
I don't know how new this is, I've not seen it before, but Furuno now has a GT88 as an improvement on the GT87.
It looks a good candidate for a GPSDO.

I can't find any boards the equivalent of the GT-8736C, the evaluation kits for the GT87 are silly money so I guess the same will be true of the GT88. Hopefully a much cheaper board (a GT-8836??) will appear soon.

Just saw this. I am looking for a board for the GT-88 as well. I will keep an eye out, and if I find one, I'll post here.

They've the complete kit as an evaluation board, see here: <https://www.furuno.com/en/products/gnss-module/GF-8805>

It has an Furuno GF-88 with OCXO, if it was cheap around $100-$150 would be a good bet to buy a evaluation kit, the P/N is VF-84 or VF-85

Unfortunately I don't think it would be under $1000 - the plain evaluation kit without OXCO is £722 inc VAT :

I think that they won't produce a cheap evaluation board like that for the GT87 as that was a motorola board replacement and there probably isn't the same demand now.
