DE-5000 LCR component test fixture or stuff into blades?

So on the De-5000 you can stuff a leaded components into the sense blades if you want. Is this safe, or do you need some kind of adapter to not damage the contacts to use it as a component tester? It seems perfect but I don't know if its a good idea.

That's exactly what those sockets are there for. Make sure to do the open/short calibration.

Ok I thought it was only for the adapters, I was not sure if those contacts are designed for leads
