Is TimeLab restricted to 200MHz measurements on 53230A?
« on: December 13, 2021, 08:03:22 pm »
Is TimeLab (I am using current, v1.55 Beta) restricted to 200MHz top frequency?

I am trying to use Keysight 53230A to measure 492.52MHz signal and TimeLab is refusing to let me enter anything over 200MHz - either manually or via "Use incoming data to configure measurement"
Is this deliberate feature or a bug?

It seems that FA-2 is allowed to have 492.52MHz but not 53230A.

Cheers
Leo

Are you using the 350 MHz input for a 492.52 MHz signal?

Yes, is this a problem?

The 53230A code inherited that limit from my 5370B code base, it looks like.  I went ahead and effectively removed the cap by changing it to 100 THz for all of the GPIB counters, just to keep it from being a problem in the future, and posted a slipstream update of 1.55b (date changed, but not the version).  You can reinstall from here.

If it works then it is no problem. I know they added some firmware frequency limits but maybe it was only to the optional 6 and 15 GHz inputs.
