How to get power supply control chips very quickly?
« on: July 31, 2024, 09:08:16 am »
Hi,
Does anyone know how we can get any of these ICs without having to wait the three days for delivery from mouser or digikey?

Findchips
Octopart
Fleabay
RS
Farnell
TME
Visit the factory
Visit the distributor

Not difficult, really.

But first it would be useful for you to understand why you need them so urgently. After all, you have sold your PSU company, so presumably this is for non-professional purposes.

There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

If you want to know about the weather, look out of the window.

If you want to know about the weather tomorrow, look out of the window tomorrow...

The standard trick (around here) is to predict that tomorrow's weather will be the same as today's weather. IIRC you will be right >50% of the time :)

No, and this is true for heaps of parts. DK and mouser are the only immediate source for just about anything remotely specialist, this includes power and specialist ADC/DAC/OpAMP type ICs from TI/AD. RS/Farnell basically are the next day (when they manage it) option over here in the UK and their catalogues are limited. Many parts are simply not stocked by distribution in the UK or they are hidden behind that lovely, RFQ-PO-Supply chain that will probably take you 3+ days anyway.

In vaguely commercial qtys a broker might find you some stock quicker than 3 days, but you have to trust them and their source. this is what Findchip etc might locate for you
