Heavy Duty Header - Sourcing this part
« on: March 30, 2017, 08:44:27 pm »
I'm looking for this female connector (see attached pic):

This is not your cheapeie 1x8 female header:

Notice the contacts on the first pic are all the way to the surface, and they are pretty beefy, versus the regular header.

But I cannot figure out what this is after lots of searching through digikey, mouser, etc. It is similar to a swiss header, but is obviously reinforced SQUARE rather than round pins.

Anyone ever used or seen something like this?

Never seen a socket like that with square contacts, but a round machined pin socket like this will take 0.1" pitch header pins

http://www.fischerelektronik.de/web_fischer/en_GB/connectors/G02/Female%20headers/PR/BL%205/$productCard/parameters/index.xhtml

They have much better retention force than the cheapies, and better current ratings.  Strangely this one is not listed on Mouser or Digikey.

I can dig out part numbers for similar 2mm pitch connectors if yours are something other than 0.1"
