PCB from Ali Express
« on: August 08, 2016, 09:16:43 am »
Hi all,

I am looking to order some of my own PCBs

Obviously I cannot make my own PCBs with vias and solder mask etc...

I have found this manufacturer on Ali Express

Low prices Double Sided PCB Prototype Board sample pcb prototyping board printed circuit board Affordable PCB Manufacturer
 http://s.aliexpress.com/Nbe6FviM
(from AliExpress Android)

Has anyone used them or one similar. They suggest a 2layer PCB will be $13. Seems reasonable!

Why not just order from PCBway website? Why do you need aliexpress in the middle? Also there are many cheap services. http://pcbshopper.com/

I didn't know it was PCBway!

Can't see that listed on their description anywhere. Well maybe I will use them directly then. Seem fairly cheap.

I have looked at PCB shopper can can't find any close.

Thanks for the links though. I have been struggling with places that charge around £40 per board for small runs.

Written multiple times in the description.

Then you are either inputting PCB parameters wrong or your board is more than 10x10 cm in size or has specific (expensive) requirements.

It's more the shipping that tends to take it over. I ha e only had a very quick look though. Will spend more time later.

Dunno, aliexpress shipping price:

Cost will depends on the weight of the boards and different countries
That is not like you get fixed price in that listing.

Top Tip:
Don't use DHL for shipping, they will add extra changes, I have been hit several times with DHL, never with other couriers.

I had 5 different PCBs made by Silver Circuits.  I'm very pleased with the boards.  They came within 1 1/2 weeks.  Also, depending on the PCB layout tools you're using, they accept the files directly.  I use Diptrace and they took its output file without the need to create Gerber files.

spacedementia87, you are in UK, so you have a much better option then the Chinese,
look to https://portal.multi-circuit-boards.eu/  in UK.

I am from Germany and I also oder from them, the quality is excellent and the price competitive.

€11.82 A PIECE for 10x10cm with loose tolerances is competitive?

I'm sure they're great for more complex boards, but that's not even in the ballpark for normal two layer prototypes.

If your board is small and you want few boards, take a look at OSH Park (https://oshpark.com/).  They charge $5 per square inch, provide 3 boards, have ENIG (gold) plating, and ship free anywhere in the world.  If you want large boards and low cost or more than just a few boards, the Chinese fab shops will be your best alternative.

For small PCBs oshpark is the best option.

For larger (10x10 cm) elecrow is one of the best http://www.elecrow.com/10pcs-2-layer-pcb-p-1175.html (alternatively dirtypcbs).

For one or a few larger PCBs I think PCBway is good (but not used them before)

What country? I use DHL for China to US. Started out with smaller orders. But now I won't change to FedEx even on larger orders, because DHL has been perfect. And my track record with FedEx from China doesn't exist, yet. If it ain't broke, and all...

PCBWay offers a $20, $30 or $50 money back for users writing a review on a major forum, but I recommend you not to do this since everyone hates this spamming marketing strategy.
What amazes me, they want 500 words minimum IIRC, probably to annoy reader of the review. Just ridiculous. I cannot imagine what good could if write about PCB in such amount of words (without diluting with useless blah blah), maybe only if investigating flaws  >:D.

Also you can see the similar product in ebay and amazon with low cost.
I generally used to buy the product form pcbway and ebay. I really had a good experience with them.
