How do I order from DigiKey China?

Has anyone ordered from DigiKey in China and shipped to an Assembler in China? I can get to the Chinese DigiKey website.. and they don't have an English option (that I can see). Will they accept payment from the US? Paypal?

I'm guessing I will figure this out later today.. but was hoping for some tips and best practices / pitfalls?

Suggest for you to call Digikey and ask them. They should be able to help you out.

Respectively, you are wanting to build in China? The contract manufacturer should be able to purchase the goods on your behalf and add to your invoice. This may be much cleaner. We went through nightmares with assorted duties and taxes when attempting to drop ship goods from Taiwan / USA / Canada to Shenzhen. It is a double-standard over there. Even though the goods were paid for properly during IMPORT to Canada -> then we paid local overhead, after wanting to send back to Shenzhen for assembly - got taxed again. Not happy with that.

Respectively, are you sure you cannot source the same goods within China? That would be easier on your pocketbook I would think.

Time Critical. I'm trying to buy in China for China.. no import needed. Billing issues too.. this is a complex build and I'm just trying to make it frictionless for the assembler this time around so they don't hit me with extra charges and delays..

BUT:

It seems upon further investigation that DigiKey China is on vacation longer than the assembler. They are still out till the 18th. (man they are serious about their holiday.. no way DigiKey USA is out for more than 2 days let alone 3 weeks)

Also.. it seems I need a Tax ID number to order something in China even if I pay via Paypal or whatever. So it seems the Government tracks everything, including customers. So I think its not possible for me to buy in China.

So I'm at a dead end with that plan..

Does DigiKey have a warehouse in China? Thought they ship everything from the US.

Since 2012 I think.. Free shipping to any place in China with $40 min order.

DK China is just a trading company that helps you to place orders, file export control forms, handle importations and issuing Chinese government's tax invoices.

The warehouse is still in the US. Typically orders do come in anywhere between 7 and 10 days including customs, as long as there is no export controlled parts.

I did not know that. I do recall shipping free.. and 2-3 days perhaps.. They must move one shipment every day and re-ship to destination within China.
