PCB mounting
« on: March 04, 2021, 01:38:11 pm »
Hi! I need to mount 2 PCB at 90 degree angle. So I am planning to use 2.54 connectors(male and female), but the problem is the device will work in harsh conditions -> vibrations, dust and so on. So what can I use to hold them tight? I don`t find any mounting spacers for 90 degree. Only straight.. Can I use just hot silicone? Or I have to manufacture some metal holders from aluminium for example?
Thanks!

Wurth Electronik have some right angled spacers https://www.we-online.de/catalog/en/em/assembly/smd_spacer
In high vibration, only securing along one edge may not be a good idea unless its only a very short board, extra supporting or a longer "bracket" may be necessary

Maybe Richco PCB MB 01 will work for you?

Edit: Now apparently manufactured by Essentra - but sold by most distributors

Almost forgot about these guys,

Perhaps the largest in the industry for PCB mounting hardware. They have been at every electronic fair in Asia we have attended.
