economical custom length FFC cables?

Does anyone have a preferred place or method to get custom length same-side FFC cables?

I'm assuming there's no easy method to DIY FFC's yet

Is it truly custom or just hard to find active? Some FPC cables we use are hard to get, found a supply in the UK from Newark that we ordered in. This is for an "active" part number, in current production. There was literally zero stock in the US.

Thanks for responding...I guess you could say "truly custom", in the sense that I want a specific length. It seems to be relatively simple to find in inch-long increments, but unfortunately, in order to make as flat of an assembly as I want, I need something that I can specify to something around 1-2mm in precision.
