How to work the FT-02 Reflow oven?
« on: July 07, 2021, 11:43:25 am »
Hi,
Does anyone know how to set the  FT-02 (by C.I.T) reflow oven?
You have to set
pre-wait time
Pre-heat time
Reflow time
Cooling time.

You also have to set an aiming  temperature for each of the above.
But you only have three buttons (A,B,C)  to play with, and the manual doesn’t seem to help much.

The best you can do is get rid of it. It's a complete trash, worse than cheap Chinese ovens. No proper temperature increase curve control, no reasonable temperature uniformity. Unless all you want is reflowing small boards, parts of the PCB will be overheated while the rest barely above solder melting point. Also there is no consistency between the runs whatsoever.

IIRC you just cycle between 4 parameters with one button and set final temp and time of 2 segments by 2 other buttons. The problem is that it reaches that temp in unspecified time which varies between the runs and stays there until the segment ends. Controller is incredibly dumb overall and not even electrically safe in older ovens. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/deadly-insane-design-(cif-ft-02-reflow-oven)-teardown-rant-safety-fix/
