Job experience in years = skill level?
« on: July 14, 2020, 11:39:16 am »
Hello,

I've found this hilarious article about job experience in years:

https://www.theregister.com/2020/07/13/ibm_kubernetes_experience_job_ad/

Money quote:
We interviewed a 28yo designer in 2012 who told us he had 17 years experience designing websites.

I said, “Tim Berners-Lee doesn’t have 17 years experience designing websites.”

“Who’s Tim Berners-Lee?” he asked.

NCSA Mosaic shipped in 1993, so it’s entirely possible to have 17 years of experience 19 years later (unlike the IBM case you cite).
