Rigol DS1052D hack (with LA)

Hello,

i read that ist possible to hack the DS1052E to a 100MHZ version.
Has anyone tried to hack the DS1052D Version (with LA)? Does it work too?

Does anyone know where to find an old 0.2.2 D-Version Firmware? I can only find the old E-Version firmware.

You'll need the logic analyzer input board. Better to get a separate logic analyzer.

My DSO ist the Rigol DS1052D with logicanalyzer hardware and want to use the 100MHz hack.
But i suppose i can not use the same firmware as used for de E-Version without Logicanalyzer.

I believe there's a hardware hack that should work. It might actually be less risk than a firmware hack if you're comfortable with hardware rework.

you can software mod it actually... hackaday has a mention on it, and i tried to mod 1052E to 1102D, successfull! except, the DSO re-tune to some calibration thats not compatible to my E version (without the presence of LA module). i posted a thread in rcgroups.

Yes i found your thread...
Where did you find out that you must change the serial to DS1EA...

But i can not find any 0.2.2 SP2 D-version firmware only the old firmware for the E-version.
I can only find 0.2.4 version for D and E Versions and the 0.2.2 Version for the E-version.

the DS1EA thing is by googling that popped out others 1102D serial number. so my conclusion IIRC. 1102D DS1EA, 1102E DS1EB, 1052D DS1EC, 1052E DS1ED, if i'm not mistaken, thats been quite a while since i did the homework... but be careful.

Thanks...

tried too google but did not found any serials. I found a post at hackday with the serialchange for the D-Version DSO. My DSO has still the "old" 0.2.2 SP2 firmware and i must only change the serial and i got a new DS1102D DSO ;-)

So you have managed to turn your DS1052D (model with LA) to DS1102D successfully I see. Can you help me in doing the same thing. I'm going to receive this unit soon.

Does the hardware hack still work with DS1052E's too? I vaguely remember having to desolder or replace a single resistor or something... Could someone link to it?
