Anyone recognize this combo touchpad/analog joystick?
« on: December 28, 2020, 05:34:51 pm »

I have such a joystick in my crap, it is so badly yellowed I didn't want to nauseate anyone with pictures of it. Here's my question, what computer was this for? The pad has a 9 pin male connector on it which suggests more a serial port, but there's no power connector for the thing. I don't think a lowly serial port could supply enough current for running an entire A/D-microcontroller combo in 1984?

There's a simple slide switch under the thing for tablet/joystick mode. If it was meant for joystick ports it would be a 9 pin female connector.

Yes I will take it apart but right now I can't find my long thin driver set.

Nope! Glasses off... Hmm. Did Apple use a reverse joystick connector? Looks like they did. Oh well, this goes to the e-cycling then...

Or convert it to a PC joystick:

Yeah, I don't see the point either  ;)

It appears to be in a decent condition and in original box, even with software. Why not sell ?

This looks like a collectable item that you can sell for hundreds.  You can bleach it back white and make some $$$ off of it.

They're not worth much. I don't have the box or anything else. Just the joystick.

If you google it but nothing shows up, it is super rare.  Super rare means big $$$$.
