new thermal cam
« on: November 21, 2023, 07:16:17 pm »
Hi everyone.. I've never used a thermal camera, I'm undecided between:

pc210 guides
uti 260b

or to spend a little more and get a HIKMICRO

in this regard there is a HIKMICRO B01 version, which does not exist on the official website..

prices are €320 HIKMICRO B01, €380 HIKMICRO B10

the first one doesn't have a normal cam and I don't understand if this thing is fundamental importance..

I would use it to look at walls and electrical panels, I don't do electronics repairs..

ps: sorry for the English...

A visible camera is not likely to be of use.

The main uses are if say you are checking all the fuseboxes in a factory you get an image with the box ID.
It can be used to try and enhance very low pixel count images by 'fusion' techniques, just as often flawed than successful

They are all basically the common Chinese 256x192 sensor scaled to a 320x240 screen
Main choice is probably screen size / format (portrait or landscape)

Do not believe all the publicity images, they can be taken with much higher grade cameras.

Maybe try a cell phone thermal camera? Might be more cost effective for a first time user.
