I've been playing with a FLIR FC-309S security camera. Pretty easy to do basic (well, security...) stuff, but how close can this setup be made to be a general purpose IR camera? Somewhere deep in the configuration of the web interface they mention a Tau driver, so I assume it's a Tau core, but which Tau? The back of the core where the Tau-s I've seen have the USB connectors and such is taken by a custom board (with no visible USB socket). Then a few other questions bug me and googling or reading Flir's docs doesn't help much:
- Would it be possible to read temperature from this setup? It is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation or web interface, but must be possible...
- How do you access this thing programmatically? The docs mention things like: "Nexus SDK for comprehensive system control and integration", "Nexus CGI for http command interfaces", "Nexus XML-Based Control Interface", etc. I see the server taking commands like SERVERDeviceConfigGet, IRPolarityToggle&, IRNUCCalibrationStart&Calibration_type=1, but haven't found a complete list. The only reference to this Nexus stuff related to Flir is that apparently cameras like Flir A310 are also using it.
Other than that I am pretty pleased that I can access from anywhere in the network, play with lenses, etc. Managed to put together an "IR microscope" or sorts, attached image is a overheating 0603 resistor.
Appreciate your help...
