GW-Instek GPE-2323 / RS Pro RPE-2323 power supply review

Hi guys,

I've seen a few questions about it on the forum, so I did a quick-ish review of the GPE-2323 power supply at the link down below. I have the RS Pro unit, since shipping by other means to my country is a nightmare in terms of consistency. I'll hopefully complete part 2 (a teardown / look inside) over the coming weekend, so let me know if there are other questions or things you want to see inside.

Thanks for your nice review.  Is there a teardown video as well? I'm struggling to buy the 4 channel version of this power supply, but I am not sure about the build quality (transformer, caps, ...).

I'd appreciate if you could bother with taking it apart and show us the inside.

Very nice review + teardown. The GPE-2323 has a lot going for it (inexpensive, output on/off switch, 1mA resolution). Do you wish you had a third and forth output, or are the two outputs adequate?

Thank you Deckert! This thourough review convinced me to make the move on this unit. I was looking for a solid supply capable of 48v - 54v and this one looks like a quality build, more than just good appearance.

Hi - one last update on this supply.

I made a very short (2 minute) video on how to reduce the fan noise by adding a series resistor to the fan. It reduced the fan noise significantly without incurring too much penalty in terms of temperature rise (measured a max of 60 degrees C on the main heat-sink at full load on both channels).
