It looks much better in 3D in the flesh with sun light caressing it.
That machine ? No not the rental agency's idea... it's the parquet manufacturer that said I should use that. Yes usually it's used to maintain/clean workshop floors, and there is detergent reservoir mounted on the "yoke"... but this machine happened not to have a reservoir. The white pad is the correct one, it's colour coded, white if for buffing a parquet after oiling it. It's even written on the box.
You can also mount abrasive pads to restore old/ancient parquet, before oiling it again.
I have not returned the machine, guy at the counter asked me if it all went alright, I said FUCK NO THIS MACHINE IS UNCONTROLLABLE !!!

To which he replied : "Yeah, it does take some practice to master it... ".
Cerebus yes you can do the win dance... thanks for the "user manual" on oiling... looks like indeed my problem is that the parquet was brand new and needed a lot more than just "a quick extra protection layer to reinforce it " as I understood it to be... Bloody oak was extremely thirsty.
I just hope that after 24H or so, the surface of the parquet will not be sticky / gooey anymore :-/
If it does, I guess I will have to use my micro fiber broom again, this time to spread 100% thinner to remove the stickiness and make it smooth to the touch.
Luckily I am in no hurry, been in this cluster fuck of a house for 2 years and one months now, so a few more days or weeks to get the parquet just right does not really bother me at all...
Anyway, little by little, this house is starting to look more and more like a house, and less and less like a construction site or dump yard... getting there.
