I rather like kale!  :-DD

Pervert!

And on the subject of food, just doing my mise en place for dinner:

Note, the cutlery is only suitable for light witticisms, not proper conversation.
What, not slicing carrots with your shortsword...? How uncharacteristically civilized of you.  >:D

*sigh* I do miss my mandoline... might have to make a pilgrimage to Amazon once we get settled in. ;)

I haven't had much luck lately fixing stuff. While assembling and testing the attenuator deck for channel 2 on the 7A24 the inner cam gear suddenly jammed and cracked rendering the entire plug-in junk.  ::) And I have no spare. The junker 7A26 is different. Oh well. So this plug-in has now become a parts unit so all is not lost.

Let's see what else I can fuck up.  :P :-DD

Sounds like a job for 3DP.  >:D

Yum fingers ala carte :)

You only do that once. You have to do it once to learn your lesson; do it twice and you're an irredeemable idiot.

*raises a paw, still cringing from the flashback*

I had the julienne insert in mine when I had that adjustment. Immediately bought a new one from a restaurant supply that came with a food holder gadget, because I knew it was a matter of when, not if, it would happen again.

Not as bad as when I made my son a bagel with sliced daddy finger garnish, but def bad enuf.

Thought that was my side (Hounslow)  :-DD

Edit: honestly the variety of food here is amazing. I love all of it. Apart from okra which can piss off.

My sentiments exactly. That and kale.
okra was created by Satan from the remains of a defunct Golgothan demon, explicitly to torment souls with. No way God (anybody's god) made a vegetable that's furry and slimy inside and out.

That's cute. 10 to 520 MHz covers almost all the most used HAM bands. +10 to -120 dBm great power range. EXT. Modulation - check. Glowy line ON lamp - check. And the plastic levers aren't broken. Just missing the hp badge on the upper left. Be interested in any more testing you do on it.

Ok, some TEAsing with photographic evidence.  Part of today's haul was a little HP 8654A 10~520 MHz Signal Generator. It needs some cleanup (getting the modulation working required some switch exercising), and the attenuator feels like it's missing the proper detents, but at first brush it appears to be functional.

And there is a rather slim counter/AFC unit for it which fits on top and gives you precise control over the frequency. I have seen that part occasionally offered without the generator.

Time for a scope change. The 465B and 2430 back on the shelf. Type 503 replacing it. Sine and Triangle wave connected to the vertical in differential mode. What did you guys call the resultant waveform and the math involved? It's name slipped my mind.

Last TEA related was firing up a Rohde&Schwarz BOL scope. Found it to be functional besides some noisy knobs and switches. Now being on Holiday.

Ok this is just WTF pricing!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TEKTRONIX-067-0589-00-7000-Series-Plug-In-Extender-/274834224762?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Edit: going to design my own open source extender kit you can order from JLCPCB as that does chamfers and gold plated fingers for low price. Plus blackjack and hookers.

There is no fancy math name for it, it's just called " Bumpy Road " usually !   :P

Damn, I am considering doing the same... The cheapest plugin extender is currently at 380 EUR (excluding customs and shipping). It should be possible to rebuild it. I could sacrifice a plugin for the greater purpose. The front part can be modelled with aluminum parts and a file  ;D

PS   If someone on this forum has one of those plugin extender puppies and wants to sell them, please PM me  ^-^

Yeah it's ridiculous.

Annoyingly the interface is a 2x38 way 0.1" pitch card edge connector. Can you get them? Not easily. 2x36 is about as far as it goes. I will make do with buying a bag of smaller chinese ones fom aliexpress and making a suitably long one out of two other ones  :-DD. Looks like you can get away with a typical IDC cable for the majority of connections and use 3x runs of RG174 terminated in SMA for the signal paths.

But it sold, so at least two people wanted to pay about that much.
Like my £2 box of Sony bits from St Neots, the first one of which went on ebay on Friday and already has bids to over £200  ;D

Yes it makes zero sense to spend any significant money for an extender ! :-// ... it's just.... an extender ! :scared:
Now anyone can make his own PCB to extend anything, and as you said just get any cheap crap  broken plugins to get the appropriate connector and a nice case to boot.

I will probably need to make something like that to fix my 5000 series scope as it has developed a ton of issues following its year spent in a storage unit that was not climate controlled...
