Now looking back my history and searching for posts to delete to move this post back to page 4000  >:D >:D >:D >:D

;)

Or you could just go up five counts, and increase/decrease the voltage by 5 mV and make it fit THIS page...

I'd be remiss not to put up pics of my two favorite digital display types.

Won't be bidding more than 2300 quid.

@mnem: one for you.

https://www.messerkoenig.at/produkt/bathleth/

this is actually made from D2 steel, dew-picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in the finest quality spring water, ...

Mmmhmmm... it does give me a bit of a nerd-boner; a bat'leth out of combat-ready steel is definitely drool-worthy.

But this one's kindof small, even for a short summitch like myself. Also, I never exactly cared for the patina D2 develops if you don't lavish attention on it; especially compared to the bright-white of the aluminum that the blades in the show bore.  :-//

And that must be a heavy summitch out of 5mm steel, even at 99cm...  :o   I made a show-authentic prop of .160 al plate as a teen, and it was a handful; the momentum was like a bastard,  almost like a Claymore. Nowadays I'm so out of shape and such a klutz I'd probably kneecap myself even with a blunted one like that. :palm:

WANT!!!!

(Too bad it's $20k....)

-Pat
Too bad it still requires a $ shielding gas.  :--
Not needing such WOULD justify such an investment.

Not just shield gas, it requires an electrical connection to the workpiece  :wtf:
No technical details such as wavelength. Can't see how you would ever get safety approval for a hand held 1.5kW laser for use on shiney surfaces  :scared:

EDIT, found some info
https://lasersystems.ipgphotonics.com/products/Handheld-Systems/Handheld-Laser-Welding-System#nav-103-specifications
1500W average, 2500W peak 1070nm and the kicker:
"Safety: Class 4 Laser Device. Customer responsible for standard ANSI safety precautions."
In other words we can't make it safe, over to you  :-DD
Filler wire feed is an optional package.
You have to register to download a datasheet.
I think it is a phony product for a "switch and bait" to their proper automated fully enclosed laser welding systems.

Edit to add - I need to open this one, clean and photograph it, and get a screw into the top of that center decade counter.

On Ebay.de is a cheap DEFECTIVE Analogic 2020 polynomial waveform synthesizer on offer.
Although the description did provide for thoughts - wtf does the seller mean by 'Festplatte' (hard disk)? The fan? Externally good condition - could be trivial - or not. Anyway, I have a working 2020 (and a 2045) and will not take on it. Remind that nobody has found a service manual yet.

Added to my watchlist. Maybe I'll bid on this...

Yes, of course it is :) Everything we do here is completely serious and sensible. Isn't it?

(Personally I dislike "rewriting history", but this is a bit of relatively harmless fun. "Students of Soviet history know how difficult it is to foretell the past")

Well, the difference is:
- children, tinkering with stuff and having a good time [1]
- children, fighting each other who's first / best / wants to have something that the other child has [2]

I completely fail to see the logic of this. Why would some time in the future random reader choose to look for post # anything more than post + or - X ?

Re-watched Back to the Future parts 1 & 2 last night, and noticed the name on the side of the manure truck that Biff crashes into twice. Would have been just a random name back when I watched it in the past, but is nowadays quite amusing...

Finally managed to score one of the cheap GW Instek scopes on CDL this morning. They still have a few unsold that will be relisted, so there's a possibility they'll get cheaper yet. If you tilt at one remember to check the pics first; some have screen damage.

Interesting. Stumbled over this website, where one can check, how many people are watching an auction at ebay and how many visits this auction got.

Website (in German):
https://www.marktplatz-tools.de/beobachter.php

This tool showed also an item with the most people having it on their watchlist.
It is this item:

Rats. Low ball offer for a toothpick knife was not accepted ...

This is all you need.

this is correct which is why we have it in our collection. While it is an excellent utility knife it is not that great for Iaido or Tameshigiri training ...

Need to look for my Hakama ...
