My thoughts exactly: "Not going to taste very nice" was already decided with the coffeebag!

It’s a compromise that. I’ve got beans here and grind them with an electric grinder usually. Obviously no power so this is emergency (camping) coffee  :-DD

Can’t tell the flipping different anyway  :-//

Slightly considering that. It will be suffering from the SMD capacitor plague most likely and require some trace repairs which could be difficult to work out. Possibly worth it if it’s not too buggered. Doubt there’s anything else wrong with it.

Worn out relays perhaps

Worn out relay usually result in SPC failure in that TDS series.

Grind Consistency is important and you can actually taste it  ;)

While I understand Charbucks and Costa were Coffee in the UK, Real and Good coffee is still out there. Find a local roaster and learn their name ;)

It's good that Bean jumped in your shorts. Good coffee does not come in tea bags. Throw that crap in the Thames.  :-DD But I'll give you a free pass due to circumstances...this time.  :P

Did you determine why you lost power? Aren't all your utilities underground?   :-//

Fucks sake. Power cut. Apparently there’s been an “emergency isolation event”. Was just about to stick a sausage roll in the oven  >:(

tsk, I'd have thought you'd have an OOPS (or UPS if you prefer).

You can pick them up pretty cheap from the likes of CDL etc, though my 1500VA APC was free... right place and right time and all that.

1.5kVA is enough to run all your lights and a domestic sized microwave oven.

Interesting colour coding ...

Yeah, why is there a red clip on the red wire unlike all the others?
Very confusing!

That shouldn't be a problem, you just have to remember that... The black clip is on the orange wire, because the black wire has a purple clip. The yellow clip is on the green wire, because the yellow wire has a black clip. The purple clip is on the white wire, because the purple wire has a yellow clip...  :-DD

Once I was round at the OH's of an evening, and we went to make our after-dinner coffee, only to discover that beans had been bought instead of ready ground (note careful phrasing...) No grinder available. We put the beans in a freezer bag, put the bag between two sheets of plywood, then practised our Morris Dancing on top of the ensemble. It mostly worked - sometimes you just have to take whatever you can get.

Yep. I didn't mean it would be the cause of the errors he's seeing, just that it might fall under the "something else is wrong" category ;)

Indeed.  20ºC is where the habitable zone starts.

Dropped back to 18.5C as the Seabreeze has come in here at 6.30pm the tough decision is to get a jacket on and ...

Convenient coffee comes in bags and it’s better than instant (yuck)

Yes utilities are underground. Think it was related to some roadworks up the road.

No UPS. I quite enjoy a good power cut. Reminds me of how dependent we are on society to function and how little you can rely on it at some times. I’m good for about a week with no power. Have three charged  Anker power banks and a large charger that runs on petrol outside.

It is now  :-DD

Actually it was the discovery that they sell 8 packs of Greggs sausage rolls in Iceland now  :-DD
