I have an Asus RTX 2070 Dual OC in original packaging sitting here as well. Was a warranty exchange, so has about 2 hours on the meter ?

Just tripped over these while packing... bought for no other reason than that they were $2.99.  ;)

Saskia, dooya think you could adapt these for your recreational electrolysis habit...?   :-DD

Just got paid this morning so got my baby back again after this year's earlier disaster :)

After all those years since the TDS210, your new baby still has only 1Gs/s sample rate  :wtf: Ok so it has colour and 200MHz but seriously I really would have expected a better sample rate  :-//

well, other things on my mind. Need to drive Hubby to rehab. Major cluster fuck, so *sigh*

Will leave on Thursday, will be afk for about 4 weeks or so.

I am sure you will have broken the 2800 page count by my return, so enjoy.

If anyone located in Germany or the vicinity is looking for a high end PC, just let me know, I have some quality ones sitting here.

All this will have to wait until after my return though, as will the repairs.

Very nice counter. very upgradeable as well. I had one.

Upgrades you can do:
1. Add OCXO. There is a slot on the right for an HP unit.
2. Add channel C. The entire board actually has nearly all the parts on it. All you have to do is add two diode rings, a prescaler and a cable to the front panel. Details here:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/test-equipment-anonymous-(tea)-group-therapy-thread/msg2528652/#msg2528652
Don't forget the RIFAs  :-DD
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/test-equipment-anonymous-(tea)-group-therapy-thread/msg2510484/#msg2510484

Edit: still need to sort those knobs out for you - haven't forgotten!

No worries mate, thanks for still thinking on it, will also let you know if those two are okey then i might not need them and you keep your spares for yourself.
Thanks!  :-+

[edit] thanks those links are super usefull!

Yeah but it can fill 5600x the amount of memory at 1Gs/s  :-DD

Cuz I tend to test what I build. Also I can write any test gear off my taxes.
I submit some ideas for improvement from time to time, and my employer gives me an appropriate bonus if those ideas materialize. I tend to test those ideas at home, build up my knowledge, and people have a hard time smart assing me on my job.
For this I use some adequate test gear which I can get at a reasonable price, which I resell after my tests are complete and if I don't use it anymore.

Which also means that I have several RTX cards sitting here; they would make a good mining rig if not for the electricity bill.

Since my next project will involve machine learning and speech to text  plus OCR I will need some of those cards, but not all of them. I'll probably try to do one training in CUDA and one in OpenCL, pythonize it, try to move it to a Pynq and get it to work on one of those autonomous Zynq Ultrascale boards. If that works out I will not need all those RTX cards any more.

Some of them are populating those PCs that I have sitting here idling around.

The original Asus blew in one of my tests, probably because of a fan failure. Asus swapped it out within 3 days, but by that time I had another replacement.

Yeabut probably for 1/4 the price of TDS when they came out.
SDS2202X-E is the same form factor with 28 Mpts and 2 GSa/s but nearly 2x the price of SDS1202X-E although it does have a pile more features.

reminds me of one of those songs ..
here's the lyrics ...

Hey! Do you know what you are?
You're an asshole! An ASSHOLE!
Some of you might not agree
'Cause you probably likes a lot of misery
But think a while and you will see...
Broken hearts are for assholes
Broken hearts are for assholes
Are you an asshole?
Broken hearts are for assholes
Are you an asshole too?
Whatcha gonna do, 'cause you're an asshole...
Maybe you think you're a lonely guy
Maybe you think you're too tough to cry
So you went to The Grape,
Just to give it a try
And Dagmar
Without a doubt, the ugliest son of a bitch I ever saw in my life
Was his name...
One Two Three Four!
The whiskers sticking out from underneath of his
Pancake make-up
And yet he was a beautiful lady
Nearly drove you insane ....

No, you can't do that on stage anymore.

I am really asking myself how far ahead we already are in the idiocracy ...

Spara, I have found the root cause of poor readings in my HP 3478A. It was the Front/Rear Switch that has gone bust, only the rear works fine. Shall I buy a new switch or a switch contact cleaner ?

This is a common failure mode with these. The good news is the switch is a very good candidate for dismantling & manual cleaning; I have a detailed writeup here: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/test-equipment-anonymous-(tea)-group-therapy-thread/msg1911782/#msg1911782

Mine had a tiny bit of grit in it causing intermittent contact. My cleaning process involved a squirt bottle of alcohol and a NEW mascara brush, which are available for a buck or three at any Wally Wurld or similar disenfranchisement department store.

Good hunting!

Ooohhh... that may be a different switch. Does it have a little tab like in this pic from my writeup? I think I can see it there between the solder pins on the switch; in your case it's a bit obfuscated by the wires.

Once you lift it up ( be VERY careful; you only need to lift ~2mm for it to free the slider) like in the first pic here you should be able to pull the plunger out. I guess I didn't really write up a lot of details; I mostly just posted oodles of high-res pics which I thought should be pretty self-explanatory. Go back through all the pics; I think you'll get the idea.

Good luck! :-+
