Yeah, I can't believe I've been waiting over a decade for (essentially) this. I used to sim a lot back in the days when we'd get new ones on a regular basis and from more than one source.

I'm looking forward to a lot of VFR flying in this one now that we have the tech to make flying low and slow worthwhile. It looks amazing (except when it doesn't). Hopefully, they make enough to keep improving it.

Suffering from withdrawal here. No TE activity for nearly 4 days.  :o Today was chore day. Groceries, laundry, etc, etc. It's all caught up.

Tell me about it. I landed me an actual paying job and need to put TEA on the backburner.

I need to, you know, work for real now.

Yeah, it also eats into keeping up with this thread. :-DD

Congrats on the new gig.

Yeah, I was looking at the screenshots and like “Fuuuu...! I’d have been tickled prrrple with pink polka dots at the lowest res example (even if some of the map data is from a different decade than the others) back in the day. This is the kind of gaming my 3700X was made for...!”

That’s a fairly large fail. Telonic always open my shit to put a U.K. mains lead in it and stick some annoying stickers on the unit.  It’s just how they roll  :palm:

Buy something else :)

Edit: really the whole market segregation like this has to stop on tangible items. It's only an excuse now because there is software behind it thus allowing the race to the bottom to continue. They can all go to hell.

So you run out of ideas ?  :)

We open every box to add a company sticker in an unobtrusive location, check and compensate probes, check FW and install options if/when required. Reset menus to factory settings and the observant might notice just one previous start when they power it up for the first time.
Lastly add a full product brochure and button it all up ready for dispatch.

Most don't bother with all that but still might open the box to include the likes of a MSO probe or external USB AWG options and then forward the SW options by email at a later date, hopefully before the new owners option trial times expire.  :scared:

Yeah that's what Telonic do and it's what I'd expect from any reseller of specialist equipment. It's the "last mile" service that makes the difference between a box shipper and a customer focused business. You're clearly a good one :)

I'm still cracking the bastard thing though ;)

To note if I was a commercial customer I'd buy fully licensed but I'm not.

Ahh you got the manufacturer tools for it  :-+

Rigol is fairly stupid on the DG front. You stick a magic USB stick in the front (one byte written at a certain address) and send it a command via SCPI to change the model, then power cycle it. The cheap ass green LEDs all go out and come back red like the expensive models. They even solder two different coloured LEDs on the board because the hardware is specialised only when they stick it in the enclosure  :-DD

Condor Soaring, in my case. But then I like flying close to rocks and making use of them - and departing from controlled flight without the wings coming off.

Item stated "Please study the photos for exact item condition". Thus return has been started.

Consumer law here is pretty hardcore so they don't have a choice but to accept the return.
That wording alone should result in good outcome for you.  :-+

If that's the case then I would have to agree too. "Not as pictured"

Edit....hopefully it doesn't turn into a pissing contest like dragon had with that Fluke meter.

Will see what happens  >:(

With a few specific exceptions, it'll run circles around your variac. So just go for it if the price tag looks acceptable.
