Just wondering... where would you guys get a 10V calibrated reference? Recently got one of eBay, actually I think from a guy that also roams the EEVBLOG, but it seems of by about 200uV or so. Actually makes sense, he gave the DMM he used for calibration and the math works out, but still. I'd like something better. Suggestions?

Pity, it's just only 5V but otherwise very interesting:

10V reference SVR Geller:

Valhalla Guildline calibrator:

There are also some Fluke 732A on ebay USA but they are very expensive. Except the one with the 10ppm drift...

In More Serious News: COVID-19 has evolved; successor SARS-CoV-2 has become dominant form of Coronaviris pathogen in current pandemic, carrying increased viral loading, possibly even able to infect COVID-19 survivors.

https://a.msn.com/r/2/BB13CHNP?m=en-us

And as if we weren't already knee-deep on the hoopla, more study indicate that it has a GI component as well; carrying the likelihood of another infection vector.  :o

It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

In other news:

A man with one GPSDO knows the 10MHz reference, a man with two is never sure...   :scared:   :-DD

Roughly twelve ours of persistence, channel one is a Samsung UCCM-LPK module, channel two (also trigger-source) is a Trimble Thunderbolt:

Do I interpret the persistence correctly that the frequency drift never exceeds one cycle ?

Yes, I also think that's true for that measurement shown with that infinite persistence.
But because I can never be sure with two GPSDOs running I'm again recording the phase difference with my scope and infinite persistence.   :palm:    :-DD
A life without TEA is possible but pointless.

I'm being PAID to time-nut. I was shopping for groceries this afternoon when work phone rang, and it was one of the architects who wanted to talk IEEE1588 nuances in our new house master clock setup.  For some of us, this is what we do all day. No, it's not helping to decelerate the TEA. Rather the opposite.
So... what you're saying is... You owe the Bunny oodles of back RENT, and at commercial rates...?  :-DD

I believe I've read that the fellow behind DDMCheckPlus also does custom orders; you may wish to try contacting him about a version with 10V output: https://dmmcheckplus.com/

Nothing wrong with it, I imagine but:

Quote
Simple LM399H based Open source 10V Reference board, Measured Using recently calibrated 6.5 Digit 34465A
34465A has these specifcation for 10V range
24Hour :  0.0010% + 0.0003
90Days :  0.0020% + 0.0004
1Year    :  0.0030% + 0.0004

Means 400uV uncertainty on the DMM he used to calibrate. I think. So if its 200uV out (as I think) that makes sense.
Those frogs can't be trusted with normals. Would someone please rescue the Meter from their filthy fins!

We've probably sunk €100000 in instruments and €300000 in clocks and waveform generators before we're done. So, yes. And I needwant to multiply my counter setup in the home lab. Hopefully this will take place at less than commercial prices.

Don't overlook the older fluke 731b, I have one, which has proven remarkably good - over my long term tests, stable results to within 20uV or so. Pretty close to some of my not great LTZ1000, The best ltz are still only good for a handful of uV in my setup.
The value for money of the fluke 731b can be pretty good if the batteries haven't leaked all over the place. Mine had leaked but it had scrubbed up ok.
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.

If you can find one the HP 735A does well too for generally less $ than the Fluke. Mine beats out both of my 6 1/2 digit meters for Temperature stability due to its Oven Reference.

Providing it worked this one was a steal https://www.ebay.com/itm/402172647639?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2546137.m43663.l10137

Yeah, that's the one  :-DD

I've also got one of these. I had planned to take it to work when the cal lab visited us for the yearly calibrations. But, of course, I forgot. |O
Mine also seems to by a little off, but how am I to know without a known good reference?

Wish I had that space  :-DD

Due to the Covid situation, I got shot slightly. As I no longer have anyone raising one eyebrow on my equipment sprawl I decided to migrate my bench to two benches facing each other. One for computer stuff (day job) and one for electronics stuff. Alas Covid-19 came along and shot that. Firstly because the table that usually lives behind me has been converted into a temporary workstation for school stuff and on it resides another desktop PC and a laptop, and secondly because Ikea is closed so getting a matching desk is not happening  :--. Due to this all my electronics stuff is packed away in cupboards and/or under beds at the moment and probably won't be coming out for weeks.  :'(

Only thing out at the moment is the 3D printer and that's only because it lives where it's safe (in the fireplace  :-DD)

Here in NL Ikea has just opened again, everyone in one way streets and 1,5 mtrs appart.. scools are opening little by little next week.
Good luck and Stay safe!
