Please, someone buy this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DATRON-1065A-Digital-Multimeter-8/324120775205 before my resolve weakens.
Careful. If you look at the seller's address on google maps, you'll see that he rents part of a yard and keeps his stock outside in shipping containers. There's considerable risk of damage to anything sensitive due to humidity and temperature extremes. The Solartron 7075 that I bought from him had significant damage caused by a very heavy piece of test equipment being dropped on the bottom cover of the meter.
I got a partial refund for that as it had also broken the seal on one of the display modules.
On the other hand, the HP5334A counter that I bought from the same seller was fine, so it's a gamble as to what condition things will really arrive in and it's fairly obvious when you look at some of his other sales that stuff isn't handled carefully while they have it. I've seen plenty of 'scopes with broken knobs etc. consistent with rough handling and storage.
Glad I didn't get that 2019A off him a few weeks back now.
My Sorensen PSU came from that seller, I originally bought the Xantrex version from him which was buggered (no output), it got returned, thankfully he had the working Sorensen replacement as these PSU's are usually overpriced from other sellers. Note that none of the items are tested beyond a power up check.
The yard he keeps his stock in is just a place with many rented industrial units & containers, which are pretty common everywhere these days. I certainly couldn't work out which unit on the site my returned item went back to.
By the way that seller has as least one other ePay account which I've bought a few things from in the past, including a box of broken glass (ex-lamps).
He also sold that pricey faulty looking Tek curve tracer a few weeks back and now has another listed with the same pictures, that's something I noticed with the PSU I bought which also had reused pictures.
