A couple more hours on the 184 and I am back to where I was before applying 130V to the 12V power rail, at least if you don't count all the reworked rework. Tomorrow I start working my way (again) through the countdown board to look for the crosstalk problem.

I guess that's progress, right?   ::)

At least it is state maintenance, which shows some effort against the 130V entropy...  The delay line ain't shot, then?

BG7TBL FA-2 and HP 53132a comparison.  Both counters have the same GPSDO external reference supplied and both are measuring a second GPSDO, both set to 10sec gate.  It seems to me the last digit is precise, just weird it has one more digit above 10MHz than the 53132a, I mean for a $110 come on!

That’s pretty damn good. May be a happy birthday present to myself next year. Takes up a lot less space than a 5334b.

Can it do calculations ie offsets?

Well you're on the first steps already what with being freshly married. Now you just wait about 13-15 years until you have teenagers and you'll not have enough cash to buy anything more than £100 because they eat everything you earn like a plague of locusts :-DD

Always a good thing when you fix a FUBAR....regardless if it was due to prior gorilla activity or self induced.  ;D

Perhaps go back to your 184 repair thread and thank them for their assistance and then ask about the crosstalk issue. Is it really an issue or just part of the original design?

That’s my 7 year old’s job. She got hold of three small blue packing peanuts the other day and cut them into a thousand little pieces. They’re stuck to everything now. I am going to have to hoover the bloody ceiling  :palm:

IPA wouldn't clean my stains, I managed to get it off with Astonish mold and mildew remover. I guess it just bleached it out.

My recent stupidity was spilling an entire mug of coffee on bench 2. If it hadn't been for the 2 coats of poly it would have been permanently stained.  :phew:

My friend spilled an espresso on my light grey carpet, that took a while to clean up with the Bissell.

Oxalic acid will get rid of the ferric chloride stains - you can find it sold to wood elves for getting staining from nails off of wood.

Hydrogen peroxide may shift the turmeric stains if you're lucky. I imagine SWUTHTBO probably has bucket loads of that as a crimper. If you don't have any to hand but do have one of the percarbonate laundry bleaches handy (Vanish et al) try that.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

SuperClean gets both tumeric and coffee stains off my countertops.

I assume any other sodium hydroxide type cleaner would work as well.

Mrs Greywoolfe doesn't know what she is missing then, it is a welcome relief from the high temperatures of summer. We don't often get snow here in the South East of the UK. I think I can remember about 9 or 10 Christmases when we had snow.

She actually understands all to well.  She was a military brat.  She told me of snow drifts in Maine above the front door and her dad going out the second floor window to dig down and free up said door as for some reason it opened outward instead of inward.  She also lived in Illinois and got to experience lake effect snow off of the Great Lakes.  No more for her.  She likes it warm.  Thankfully, my office is not tied into the house air con so when she has the AC set to 74, my office is a comfortable 70.  When the outside temp is 60's and below, I can close the door to the house and open the door to the outside world and cool my office for free.  The dogs then can roam in and out at will and enjoy with weather with me.

In my younger days I could remove most stains using a solution of potassium dichromate in sulfuric acid.
  >:D >:D >:D
You should wear safety gloves and goggles for that though ...

The profile picture is more like a racoon removal photo ...

No, this was not serious. Don't fool around with potassium dichromate and sulfuric acid, as it is a pretty nasty combination.
