So in the lot I got in Vermont sometimes ago, I had a box full of power transistors. Mostly, TI SP7388B and S 42SE236. Pretty cool but I can't find any info on those parts. It's like they never existed. I tried looking them on some sites (alltransistors.com, etc ..) but found nothing.

Anybody know what they are and where I could find the specs ?

Can't place that 'S' right now - Siliconix? Sprague? Semitron? Semicoa? Semtech?

No idea. It's the first time I'm seeing that logo (Big S with black background)

The Type 114 is done. All cleaned up, cabinet repainted, switches deoxit'ed. Now going through a mandatory burn-in of several hours.

Slowly getting through the hamfest stuff. P6042 current probe is gonna need the have a few inches hacked off the probe cable due to a broken conductor for the Hall sensor.

Was there a recent albedo measurement for the referred surface?

The P6042 fortunately has a permanently attached probe, so you don't have to hack off a connector but you are in for some very fiddly soldering.

I can almost guarantee and be willing to bet a paycheck they are "in house" part numbers and came from the old IBM Burlington, Vermont plant.

Edit....betcha they were used in early switch mode power supplies. Used similar TO-3 devices at the IBM Poughkeepsie, NY plant back in the 1970's.

You missed out Samsung, Sanken, Sanyo, Semelab, SEC, Semikron, Semitronics, Sensitron, Sescosem, Shindengen, Siemens, Signetics, SIT, Silec, Solid State Devices, Solid State Inc, Solid State Industries, Solitron, Sony, Space Power Electronics, ST, Supertex, and Syntar.

Siemens, Sanyo, ST (or rather SGS) were out of the selection because of that 'S'. Of some others I know the logos and some are obscure. I just wanted to see how far he was.
With 'SIT' you meant STI, I presume. And there is Sussex Semiconductor.

Select 6V 2.8Ah in the drop box and that is the battery you need, A single wrap with small bubble wrap and the terminals insulated and leads lengthened, job done

About the Tek P6042 probe cable - mine had breaks at both ends.  I was lucky in that nothing in the probe was bad or broken.  I suppose that's good for something 50 years old.  Anyone know when Tek stopped making them?  Does anyone know if the coax part of the bundle has any special characteristics?

Ts ts ts you guys have way too much time. 
Instead of writing here and showing RPN stuff and talking about 3D printing, I did some soldering. 

I've finished my little switch for my JBC HD-2D station, so now I can switch between T245 and T470 soldering irons.

It works! 


50W resistors (3.3 Ohm and 2.7 Ohm in series for the T245):
