Here it is. Packaging was outstanding.  :-+ Need to run some errands then when I get back teardown and power on.

A very nice specimen indeed. One thing I'm super curious about now that I've seen yours...the Type 114 is the only piece of Tek gear I own that says "TEKTRONIX, INC, PORTLAND, OREGON" rather than Beaverton. Was this something that changed at some point?

Yea, I think sometime in the 1960's Tek moved from Portland to Beaverton.

Just to be sure I ordered 4 of them  :P
Guess both of us just rolled the dice, your bet is twice from mine though.  :-DD
Worst case I got some spare leads, fuses and aligator clips  ^-^
LOL, had the same thought too, from the picture, especially those big alligator clips look really nice.  :-DD

(Attachment Link)    All my friends are doin' it, so I'm doin' it too!!!  :-DD

But I DID spring the two dollah for ePacket... we'll see if it makes any difference on deliveries to the Great White North. I suspect Customs will more likely cause delay than anything else.

Hey... Whatchoo guys doin' all up on that bridge...?!?

Should be fine. I think they ship in bulk to Canada (Container ?) then use Canada Post to reach the final destination. Normally it's quick.

A motley crew, if there ever was one.

Missing is the toolbag Fluke 11, a Taylor 1950s bakelite VOM, and a vintage bakelite DC voltmeter that does duty as battery bank meter. Also the hp multimeter that was discussed upthread is in a customs facility somewhere.
There is a method to the madness, though. I like hp and I have a past in stage sound, so meters that are good to check that your three-phase feeder is correctly tied in are popular.

Type 114 porn.  Top view. No evidence of modifications.      2 bottom views. Again, no evidence of modifications. Beautiful construction. Looks like an HP with the gold plated board.         Does it work? Sure does....extremely well. Just a few dirty spots on the pots.  :-+      That mark on the front left of the case is damaged paint, not the remains of a label. But no other damage. I will defile and ruin it for future generations by giving it a fresh coat of paint.

Looks great!!!  :-+  So, WHEN are you gonna defile it, Painty Smurf?  :-DD

Type 114 porn.

I'm loving the construction... polished nickel-chrome support rods, power resistor screwed to the case on end. Delicious!

And the flying leads everywhere... especially where they just make a dogleg around screws & studs.  :-+

The mail lady just delivered the NanoVNA. So far I'm impressed, but I'm still learning the menus. I did do a cal and then a quick return loss sweep from 1 to 30 MHz of my main fan dipole with 5 ham bands. The first dip at resonance for the 40 meter band is -30 dB and the comparison from a sweep I did last week using my Rigol DSA815 is -30.24 dB. That's pretty damn good!

I will do a much better set of data in the next few days for you, but so far I can't complain.  8)

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

It sure does. But the analyzer part is intermittent. Feels like the gain rotary switch is a bit dodgy. Measurements are all over the place with a stable input directly from the oscillator. And, I know nothing about dismantling 500 Series modulars with the pull handle broken off which of course it is, and I think we can safely assume that it is required to open the device to fix the analyzer  ;D. A fixing thread in itself, I'm afraid.

For the first time since I started hanging out in this thread (probably because I want to fit in, in some strange way) I have made the effort to clean the workshop table (but not the rest...) enough to dare post a photo of the collection.

I like hp and I have a past in stage sound, so meters that are good to check that your three-phase feeder is correctly tied in are popular.

thank goodness you have not acquired the vulgar habit of sneaking a calculator into every test bench portrait.

I hate playing "Where's Waldo".  I see the calcs in the second and third picture.  In the first, I see "Groot", "The Hulk", etc. but no calc?
