As a kid I remember dad having an interest in
quality sound and he'd made a pair of floor standing upright reflex units from T&G timber with 8" Wharfedales and fed them with a Tripletone 5+5. When he saw the hiding we gave them as teenagers he got a locally made Sonophone 20+20. We hammered that harder and blew a 12" woofer.

I laugh now but it was no laughing matter at the time.

The only online pics of the Tripletone aren't quite the right ones, it was a two piece amp, the main chassis was to be in a cabinet and the control box with inputs was on an umbilical cord.
This amp looks right, ECC83's for preamp and drivers and EL84's for outputs

The control box looked like this but only half the depth and included a ECC83 preamp stage.
All but the source selector where dual pots, not ganged.
