Not the usual fare for this thread, but I thought some might like it.  (or be amused)
My wife made me a lined cover for my oscilloscope - sewed with an outer layer, lining and batting to make it a bit stiffer.

That's awesome. It's a scope cozy!

Great idea to get your wife involved. Now she can look forward to the arrival of new gear to make cozys for.  :-+

Somebody hold my hand.  I'm about to spend money again........    I just have to press a couple of buttons.

There, it is done.   I will soon be the new owner of a Amscope 7x-45 SM-4T stereo microscope, a .5x barlow lens, a 144 led ring light,  WEP 858D hot air rework station, 36"x 60" antistatic pad, and a few other assorted small things.

Well done! She could sell those. Cozies and TEA parties. Seems a good fit. Plus, it helps to obfuscate the test equipment. LOL!

Yeah, those are nice!   Made me want to  make some.  I just reviewed some Youtube vids on sewing to remember how to use the machine.  Never enough time....

And if you had one of those fancy programmable sewing machines, you could embroider stuff on the front of the cozy.

Excellent hand work!  :-+

I need to press some buttons - I have an eye on a TDS 520B.
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

Ah, sewing by firelight.   That actually sounds pleasant and calming for some strange reason.

Think of the possibilities if some fine wire mesh with a grounding point was in the fabric:

EMP proof your test equipment!

A smart looking Faraday cage for those sensitive measurements!

Or with insulation:

Thermal stability for your test equipment!

Hmm.. Kickstarter... :o

Thanks for the kind words guys.
My wife is purely a recreational sewer - helps her de-compress from work.
She does have a machine with an embroidery add-on so i was thinking maybe she could embroider a schematic like Dave's negative feedback op-amp or the 555 timer.

If you had a machine that could embroider a faraday cage, that would be useful.  :-+

I've gone through the Glossary of terms and noticed that MIPS is missing, "Mouser Impulsive Purchasing Syndrome".
I have it too :scared:

More TEA from me...

The 475 I bagged for £49 arrived. With a single slightly knackered P6106 probe.

Turned it on, nothing. The excitement of something broken at last but alas no, after some knob wiggling for a couple of minutes to set the default state it works perfectly. I cracked it open as well. All power supplies are on the mark.

Needs a good clean and a couple of pot shafts bending back to normal position and it's as good as new :)

Even all the indicators work!

Nice one! I have phases of wanting to pick up a classic Tek. I have to wait for the feeling to go away again.

The Teks are calling...  Give in to their siren song...  You know you want one.  (or five, or ten   >:D >:D)
