It's not relevant. Also a new scope from a grey market dealer sold too cheap should not be removed using the methods Siglent used.
:-+
Siglent's only right to control sale prices is to terminate their agreement with the offending dealer(s).
They have no right to control the sale price of anybody (including dealers or 3rd party sellers).
And they compounded their problem by using a fraudulent claim to take down sellers.

We have seen no credible evidence that this was not intentional and continues to be their policy into the future.
There are still only two Siglent items on Ebay listed as "used" that I can see.  (vs. 349 new)

While Never Ever is a long time, Siglent and Rigol don't fit into what I have set as standards for test equipment in the first place.  I give Siglent credit for doing the right thing, we shall see how they behave in the future.
What is your standard for test equipment?

It is odd that when searching for Siglent on ebay there is nothing used being listed.

Then again some come along way from be toy grade to becoming more serious and is changing the market as we know it and price of older gear has dropped as a result and pushing big name to become more innovated, instead of relying on old designs from many years ago. So in a way I am glad companies like Rigol and Siglent are around.
What they've done is commoditized the market for baseline T&M equipment.  The big names can no longer sell commodity equipment at value-pricing.  It forces them to adopt to a market that expects cost-plus pricing for commodities.

Let's just hope they're still not doing these illegal practices...
Or maybe everyone's snapping up the Siglents because their value has gone down so much!  :-+

Yes this. +1
Of course Siglent are free to do anything they chose, but doing this is only going to harm their reputation further (ignoring legal liability). It's a fundamentally stupid policy that can only be detrimental to their companies future.

Reading this thread for the last couple of hours was most entertaining.

Seems to me that the whole debacle could have been avoided if both sides were more familiar with the english language.

Certainly OldSchoolTechCorner did not help his case by advertising the Siglent SDG5122 as Item condition:New other (see details), rather than specifying right off as Used, and selling through a company Seller: mastertechtrading probably was what set off the bells at Siglent China. The 'intern' not reading further than that did not help either.

I find it very interesting how Siglent, China and America, handled this situation. It does not inspire much confidence in their business acumen. I just feel sorry for the Siglent dealers who have to deal with the aftermath.

Funny how in Reply #145 they cannot get OldSchoolTechCorner's name right.

You certainly did not read this thread in entirety, because most of what you have asserted is incorrect.

You sure sell it on a different account that they don't know about, at a random time listed with worldwide shipping available, so goes on all of eBay servers. If they file another claim, then shame on them.

But Dave... you forgot the BNC caps  ;)

No BNC caps, no original box, must be one of those brown market jobs from a dodgy seller.

Oddly enough it doesn't turn up when I search for SDG5082 when I use ebay.com! Ebay is kinda weird that way.

That's coz it's on Ebay Australia ebay.com.au not ebay.com (US).

Yes, so if Siglent only searches Ebay.com then they won't notice it. Ofcourse they'll be reading this thread so it is just hypothetical.

Shows up for me here on eBay.com in the USA just under the US listings in the "International Listings".  But it is listed as "New", not used.
