@OldSchoolTechCorner
That is good news.  :phew:

Have you checked with eBay there are no black marks against your account still remaining?

I did call them they removed the black mark that it left, they did admitted it was completely their fault .

Good to hear, sounds like all is well except for the obvious bad taste left in your mouth...

OldSchoolTechCorner what are they sending you?  I hope it is something cool.

FWIW I received my SDG2082X yesterday and so far I really love it.

Nice to see that Siglent fixed the symptom. Let's see if they also fix the cause.

Decide to keep the SDG2122X and didn't return it and glad I did, it is a very good piece of hardware, they added adjustable noise bandwidth and new firmware fixed a few issues with it. This series is a good one.

They are sending a SHS1102 isolated handheld scope.

Blimey! Thats a bit better than a t-shirt or pen.

Hmm... I think I'll try flogging my SDG1025 on ebay, I fancy something shiny!

The new 2000x series I am actually quite impress with it, worth a look at, if your looking for something new.

When you list that SDG1025 on eBay, I would add a few funny lines to the description, see if they notice.

Only in time we will tell, if they actually resolved the issue that caused the issue in the first place. I don't think they want to see another long thread about this again. Let just hope they quit enforcing policy on eBay.

Late to the party, but I've read all 43 pages with great interest!

I really would recommend you at least report this to whatever government body deals with this type of shenanigans* in the USA (Is the FTC the equivalent of the UK's Trading Standards body?), and see if they think issuing false IP/TM infringement claims in order to prevent private sales at lower prices is something they'd be interested in.

* My predictive text suggested "Shenzhen" there! 😂

I agree, I got a SDG2082X last night and I love it.  I don't know what was available before in terms of price point/value, but this thing is fantastic.

There you go.  That is taking care of a customer right there.  Like you said, you didn't ask, and they didn't have to do this, but if I were getting a SHS1102 and they fixed my eBay status, all would be forgiven.  Good for you friend!

...just don't try to sell it on eBay. They'll be watching.

As a Siglent distributor in USA, I admire how the USA arm has handled this p.r. nightmare!  It's a real shame because the X units are fantastic pieces of kit! And a bargain will all the discount codes appearing!

I'm glad this particular incident was resolved. But I'm absolutely not convinced that a lesson was learned here and that any action on part of Siglent will follow.

I think that is a good compensation for your loss of time and your problems. I am not sure it repairs their reputation though. I am a customer of Siglent's and I might or might not buy something made by them again. Time will tell.

I actually need it, as was in the market for a isolated handheld scope.

I'm jealous.

I really wanted this model when I bought my demos but it was so much dearer than the SHS810 I got. Mumble mumble.
Nice to see you got the padded carry case too.  :-+

I hope this all worked to your satisfaction.

The real lesson to me was the power and speed of the internet to make things happen so quickly. Siglent was really placed (by their own actions) in a bad place with a forum of prime customers who are free to express their opinions correct or not. For a fairly new instrument company in a pretty selective market place this had to have effect they probably won't soon forget.

Now their marketing department should demand a come-to-Jesus meeting with the rest of company management about this event and put in place the procedures, policies, and training to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. we can hope that soon they can start working on positive things to grow their company and products and be a brand one might even recommend to some newcomers to the market/hobby.

See I told you no lawyers were required, nor would they have helped.

It seems rather likely that Siglent's counsel got involved at some point internally and gave them a refresher on what is and is NOT legal. Or if they didn't, then they aren't earning their retainer fees.
