I think you took things the wrong way.

Just before coming here I was watching someone debunk a flat earther on YT.  The gist of it was that all flat earthers have is "The earth is flat".  They say it themselves and hear it from other flat earthers enough that their earth really is flat .. to them..  anyway.. :-//

Anyway, having the improvements listed more than once is not a terrible idea.

This was the idea: the improvement list that I posted was not included by tautech so I considered useful to be posted in this thread (there are 10 point some of them important). Is the second time when I explain this ...

That was my assumption from your fist post on this. :-+

Hi, all. I just took delivery of a SDS1104X HD. Ordered from a major US distributor (will go unnamed for now), and delivered promptly. You can imagine my confusion and disappointment when I opened the box to find a scope with a beige case and a label clearly stating "SDS1104X HD - 100 MHz - 1 Gsps". It looks like somehow they had a China-only first generation model in their inventory? Just curious if anyone else has had this happen, and how it was resolved. I contacted the distributor immediately after opening the box, and haven't heard back from them yet. I want to give them the chance to make it right before I mention their name, etc.

:o

AFAIK none of these were released to the west as what we got at release were all dark 2GSa/s models.
I see you're in NA where the price is $1400, is this what you paid or some discounted amount ?

Tautech: that was my conclusion from reading the various threads on here. I paid full price, images and description from their product page clearly show the new (black) version, and state 2 Gsps, etc. Will report back when I hear from the distributor.

Return the DSO and get the proper one from Saelig, good resource for Siglent gear. Ask nicely and Rob at tautech might PM you a discount code for use at Saelig :-+

Finally received a resolution from the distributor, albeit not at all what I was hoping for.

In total I spent one month and around a dozen emails with three different contacts. I made it clear that I was after two things: an explanation of what was sent to me (i.e., the Asian market scope), and a replacement NA version (i.e., what I ordered). The whole process was very frustrating, and the majority of the time I had to send two replies to each message (waiting three to five business days between) in order to get them to respond. They gave me an RMA number, and they inexplicably refunded the full purchase price once they received the unit (instead of sending me a replacement, as I requested).

I spent a good part of my twenties working in the hospitality industry in order to pay for school, so I know customer service is hard. I hesitate to share the name of the shop here, because this is the first poor experience that I've had in the five or so years that I have been buying from them. That being said, at no point did it seem like they were genuinely interested and motivated to solve the problem, I won't be giving them any of my future personal or professional business. Moreover, they are popular on this forum because of the discount they offer. With all that in mind: take my experience with a grain of salt. I don't think they are BAD people, I just want to give my money to a supplier that wants it.

TL;DR: The distributor in question is TEquipment. I was made whole, but I didn't receive an explanation of why I was sent an Asian market scope, nor did I receive a replacement NA version. I made it very clear that this was what I wanted, and they failed to do so.

I knew it was Tequipment before you said it. You're not the only one with a terrible experience from them.

Saelig is a significantly better company, with excellent customer service. They also have an EEVBlog discount. I'd suggest giving them a try instead.

Thanks,
Josh

...

Very unpleasant experience!

Mine was acquired from AliExpress (I'm from Europe) but they send to me what I have ordered (the new, black version of 1000H HD). After I put the order they changed the image on their page with a white one, and when I warned them to not try to send me that model they tell me that I will get what I have ordered (they send me a picture with scope and serial number) and they said that they still have old stocks that need to be sold. Beside that they offered me the 1204 model at the price of 1074, they offered also warranty with shipping included (to China of course). So a nice experience with Chinese. I wasn't expected anytime to such an experience from a company like Tequipment. You can try to ask Siglent NA where you can buy the model you want.
