DS1054z flash drive size/file system type
« on: February 22, 2015, 03:11:15 am »
Hi, I just got myself a nice new 1054z and want to use a USB flash drive with it , but none of the ones I have are recognised by the scope. I cant find a specification for the type of drive I should be using in the documentation. Could someone please recommend a drive they have that is recognised, and what size and file system they are using.
Thanks.

I think it shouldn't be larger than 8 GB and should be formatted FAT 32 or FAT 16.

Hi, thanks for that, I just found another old Toshiba drive which is now working after a reformat. -FAT32 8GB.

I have found that quick format does not work and also after a full format it took several tries before the scope recognized the stick. It was definitely squirrely at first, but once it finally recognized the stick it was consistently recognized from then on.

I was able to use a brand new 64GB PNY USB 3.0 flash drive, preformatted FAT32, without issue. Upgraded the firmware on my DS1054Z, DG1032Z, and DP832.
