Rigol question: Does anyone know if the LH1116 will work on DS/MSO1000Z's?

I know that the Rigol LH1116 was sold alongside scopes like the DS1102D, but I am curious if anyone knows if there is a difference between it and the product included with the RPL1116 kit.

I've seen product teardown videos to understand that there is a bit of circuitry inside the scope, as well as a small amount inside the case of the LH1116 so I didn't know if they might be the same and thus be capable of being repurposed on the newer oscilloscope product line (such as the MSO1074Z or MSO1104Z).
