Philips PM3207 fault
« on: February 17, 2014, 02:20:05 pm »
Yesterday I bought
scope 2nd hand for €40 =)

Brought it home, turned it on and I got
.

I didn't have probes so I couldn't really test it, but I could change de vertical position, in xy mode I got a dot and when changing the volts/div you saw the line get "distorted".

After playing with the knobs for a while all I've got was 1 line on screen.=(

I think it was when changing the trigger from ac to tv but I'm not shure.
Now I can't adjust the vertical position and in xy mode I get nothing.

Here is a video of me noodeling with the knobs.

Also on the
it says 220V and I
230V, is this a problem?

Here is the manual.

Today I've got probes and when connecting the probe to probe adj. I also get notting.

Here is a video af that.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks

Edit: In the video's it's on ADD but I tested it and on A&B it does the same thing.
(Edit2: or maby it happend when switching between alt and chop mode)

Its doing more or less what I would expect it to do.

Switch the AB / ADD switch back to AB

When I switch to A&B it gives me the same result.

Connect your probe to channel A and take it off the probe adjust clip. If its got a switch on it,set it to x1

Adjust the 'volts/div' and 'trigger level' and you should see noise when you touch the probe tip with you finger.

Tried it, can't see noise

I can't see the triggering in your last video.

Use input A then set triggering to  'A' '+' 'INT' and 'AC' then use the small trigger level knob.

Try a paper-clip in the A BNC just to check your probe isn't shorted.

If you cant see any noise try probing a battery.

Tried everything you said but still the same stupid line.
