Brymen BM869s - DCV+ACV and nS conductance functions
« on: July 18, 2021, 09:25:36 pm »
Brymen BM869s has two modes of DCV+ACV measurements (see the attached image). What is the difference between these two modes? The manual doesn't explain it.

What is the use case of the nS conductance measurements?

Thanks for your answers.

DCV on main display, ACV on secondary vs (DC+AC)V on main and ACV on secondary

nS is for high impedance measurement.

Note the symbol on the left of the meter screen, when it displays a combined AC and DC symbol. I think the manual does specify the value as being sqrt(AC^2 + DC^2)

The first drawing shows DC voltage with a negative value in the main display and smaller secondary display shows the AC component present in the DC voltage.

The second shows the AC and DC together in the main display and the secondary display shows how much of that main display is the AC part.
